Contribute to the atlas
One sourced number is a real contribution. You do not need to know the whole atlas, and you do not need git: a form on GitHub is enough.
What you can contribute
- Evidence: a paper, dataset or report with a number that updates a current value.
- A challenge: a current value, target, limit, readiness level or gap you think is wrong, with your source.
- A technology: one the atlas should track, or a dependency that has no page yet.
- A translation: a wrong or missing translation, or an offer to translate into your language.
The source is what matters most. A number without a source cannot enter the atlas; a number with one, even a single one, can.
Without git: the forms
Each form opens on GitHub and needs only an account. It asks for what a reviewer needs, and the moderators of the domain triage it.
- Report evidence: a source with a number that updates the atlas.
- Challenge a value: a value you think is wrong, with your source.
- Propose a technology: a technology or dependency the atlas does not have.
- Translation: a wrong or missing translation, a glossary term, or an offer to help.
Ideas that are not a proposal yet, and questions about the atlas, go to Discussions.
With git: a pull request
If you can use a terminal, you can make the change yourself. It needs only Python 3.11 or later.
- Fork the repository on GitHub and make a branch.
- Edit the TOML of a technology or an evidence card, starting from the templates.
- Run the generator and the check; the check says what is missing.
- Open a pull request and fill in its template.
- A curator or moderator of what you changed reviews it, and a maintainer merges it.
The step-by-step guide and the rules every pull request follows, from the evidence rules to the titles and the sign-off, are in CONTRIBUTING.md.
